About the team

The Operations function, thanks to its global scale and drive for innovation, is playing a meaningful role in PMI’s business transformation. For our Digital & Analytics Strategy team in Lausanne, Switzerland, we are looking for an Intern to contribute to the definition and execution of key forward looking initiatives for PMI Operations.
Who we’re looking for

Available from February 2025 for a full year
Someone with a passion for data, analytics and curiosity to understand operations business processes.

Studies for a master’s degree in computer science, communications systems, or management, technology and entrepreneurship.
Tech Savvy.
Initiative, autonomy, communication and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge in software engineering tools and best practices.
Experience in data collection, management and analysis.
Fluent in both written and spoken English.

Roles & Objectives

In your assignment, you will be part of two key Analytics Initiatives.
The first one is part of our cost analytics effort. We have constructed a north-star of an ideal analytics backbone to support cost analysis, containing spend/cost information but also linking those elements with the losses that we have across the Operations business process. The main goal is to leverage advanced analytics to simulate the impact of improvements ideas across the value-chain on cost and losses. To that extent, you will partner closely with sub-functions across Operations to ensure these teams have access to a single FAIR source-of-truth for any operations cost and loss information.
The second one is part of our master data management effort. We would like to kickstart an innovative AI use case dubbed “self-healing master data” with aims at autonomously identifying and correcting errors of various nature supporting crucial business processes in Operations. To that extent, you will collaborate with cross functional teams to align on the objectives, milestones and success criteria of the initiative and develop the prototype accordingly. You will also support the creation of presentations, material and sessions to communicate the impact and progress of the initiative.
