SAFETY HEALTH & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER

• Set the health and safety agenda within Mc Cormick and engage the business in its delivery.
• Manage Turkey and Dubai Plant’s environmental agendas while overseeing and leading PLP targets in conjunction with Global and Regional strategies, mid- and long-term plans
• Deliver a proactive and robust approach to managing health and safety risks across the business ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
• Champion health and safety within the business, ensuring continuous improvement and promoting a positive health and safety culture.
• Ensure the business is aware of and prepared for forthcoming changes in legislation relating to health and safety, liaising with external bodies as necessary, and maintaining the legal register to reflect such changes.
• Provide a monthly report of health and safety information, performance indicators (leading and lagging) and other relevant statistics for circulation to the EMEA Managers.
• Contribute to the identification of training needs and provide, or arrange for the provision of, appropriate health and safety training.
• Represent Turkey and Dubai Plants on the Mc Cormick Regional and Global Health and Safety Committees.
• Advise on aspects of health and safety in the design, layout and use of new, modified and trial plant and equipment and process.
• Carry out scheduled and ad-hoc safety inspections and make recommendations for improvements to relevant personnel.
• Ensure that records relating to Health, Safety and Environment are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements and company policy.
• Liaise with all levels of personnel within the company and relevant external agencies on matters of Health, Safety and Environment to facilitate improvements
• Continuous monitoring and formal auditing of Health & Safety systems and procedures and through full consultation redefine or redesign such systems to ensure compliance with legislation and company policy. Particular emphasis should be given to risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Manage the Waste Water Treatment Facility, ensure that it is operating in the utmost condition to meet corporate requirements and local regulations.
• Manage all waste removal activities meeting local requirements.
• Facilitate and support the Turkey and Dubai Site Safety Action Teams.

• Engineering Diploma and C Class Health and Safety Certificate.
• At least 5 years operational experience – preferably within a food industry environment
• Experience managing waste water treatment facility is a strong plus
• A strong practical approach with clear leadership and influencing abilities
• Able to demonstrate achievements in Health and Safety standards
• Ability to effectively influence at all levels with the organisation
• Flexible and able to manage concurrent priorities
• Personal vision must include making a difference to site health and safety and environmental aspects
• High level of computer literacy
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels and within diverse environment
