The job role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Administrator to join an accountancy practice in Barrowford. This is an interesting and varied role as we provide services for clients in a range of sectors including Engineering, Food Production, Medical & Dental Care, and many more.
We are looking to recruit on a full time, permanent basis. Previous accounting experience is essential for the role, but training can be provided on the certain softwares used (Sage, Xero, Quick Books, etc.) if required.
Responsibilities of the job

• Preparation of annual accounts using Digita.
• Preparation of letters to clients and other stakeholders.
• Reconciling bank balances, loan accounts, etc.
• Meeting with clients and attending occasional AGMs.
• Checking and submission of VAT returns.
• Processing of payroll and RTI submissions for clients.
• Processing journals – accruals, prepayments, etc.
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients when required.
• Other general admin and bookkeeping tasks as needed.

Essential experience & skills

• Ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using accounting systems.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products e.g. Excel, Outlook, Word.
• To be aware of, and comply with, General Data Protection Regulations and other company policies relating to confidentiality.
• Understanding of VAT processes.

Training

• Internal training can be provided for some areas of the role, but the applicant must already be competent with general accounting processes like journals and VAT.
