Senior Bookkeeper

An exciting new opportunity is now available for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a growing, modern accountancy practice based in Romsey.
Due to business growth and success, they are now looking to hire a Senior Bookkeeper to assist the accounts team with a large portfolio of diverse clients. This will be a varied and interesting role which will offer the opportunity to deal with clients directly, advising on payroll, VAT, and ad-hoc financial queries.
Role Responsibilities –

• Manage a portfolio of limited company, sole trader, and partnership clients from a diverse range of industry sectors.
• Completing full bookkeeping for all clients.
• Ensure general bookkeeping is completed in a timely manner.
• Monthly reporting.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Managing monthly and weekly payroll for a small portfolio of clients.
• Preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns, dealing with HMRC queries.
• Data entry using various accounting software
• Liaising with clients and their representatives/managers.

Person Responsibilities –

• At least 3+ years’ experience gained as a Bookkeeper/Senior Accounts Assistant working for a UK based accountancy practice.
• AAT qualified would be ideal but latter stages of AAT or candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered.
• Due to the location, it is essential that you hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
• Highly organised with good attention to detail.
• Flexibility of approach as there will be lots of variety within the role.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise directly with clients.
• The ability to be able to work independently, managing your own time, and ensuring deadlines are adhered to.
