The Opportunity:
You'll be joining our amazing Production team as Hygiene/Line Feeder Operative working either a 6am - 2pm or 2pm - 10pm shift. Working within a fast paced environment, with a focus on continuous improvement, right in the heart beat of the business.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will bring with them Hygiene and Line Feeder Operator experience in Manufacturing with a GMP focus. They will be people oriented and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We at Expac have an integrated approach to teamworking and so the individual will be good at building positive relationships. Job Title: Hygiene & Line Feeder Operative
Reports to:Production Supervisor
Based at: Expac (Preston) Ltd based at Units 1 & 2, Tomlinson Road, Leyland, Preston PR25 2DY
Job Purpose:
Work across all of the production areas and be responsible for ensuring that all machines meet the strict standards of hygiene required at all times
Duties / Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out scheduled daily cleaning tasks in accordance with written approved procedures
  • Deliver high standards of quality ensuring production, peripheral areas and the equipment within those areas are cleaned in line with site standards and customer specification
  • Clean the processing equipment and production lines to meet required standards, measure through testing of samples
  • Deep clean production areas, where necessary
  • Maintain, replenish and be accountable for stocks of cleaning materials
  • Be fully conversant with the safe preparation , handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants used in conjunction with hygiene duties
  • Safely use cleaning equipment, materials, personal protective equipment (PPE), and products in accordance with the manufacturers instructions, legal and organisational requirements
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner in line with cleaning SOPs
  • Follow the Health & Safety procedures at all times, ensuring all potential hazards are observed and reported immediately
  • Use and maintain all equipment in a correct manner and report any machine/equipment issues
  • Minimise the environmental impact by following the Company waste disposal procedures
  • Assist in day to day operation of factory and provide cover and support to other operatives as and when required
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Line Manager
  • Perform initial inspection of stock/goods before they enter the production area to ensure they do not feature any defects and design flaws and check that stock/goods are clean and free from debris
  • Safely transfer materials/supplies to and from Production areas
Key Skills & Attributes:
  • Ability to work to time constraints both on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically and to follow procedures thoroughly
  • Good numeracy and IT skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to duties and tasks.
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and COSSH
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £11.64 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week
