The Opportunity:
You'll be joining our amazing Manufacturing team as a Process/Mixing Operative working either a 6am - 2pm or 2pm - 10pm shift. Working within a fast paced environment with a focus on continuous improvement, right in the hear beat of the business.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will bring with them Process/Mixing Operative experience in Manufacturing with a GMP focus. They will be people orientated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We at Expac have an integrated approach to team working and so the individual will be good at building positive relationships. Job Description
Job Title: Process/Mixing Operative
Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor
Based at: Expac (Preston) Ltd based at Units 1 & 2, Tomlinson Road, Leyland, Preston PR25 2DY
Job Purpose:
Assist the Manufacturing Supervisor in maintaining the smooth operation of a fast-moving environment. Responsible for the weighing of chemicals, blending of bulk product and ensuring the Company's targets and objectives are met to meet customer requirements. Ensuring compliance with health and safety, quality and procedures. Maintaining an excellent level of housekeeping and working in-line with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Duties / Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately weigh chemicals to be used in the manufacturing of personal care, cosmetic and household products, following safe procedures for the handling of chemicals
- Comply with all Health & Safety requirements as stipulated within the Company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and procedures
- Work with management and colleagues to ensure departmental KPIs are achieved and wherever possible exceeded
- Manufacture products in line with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and methods of manufacture and immediately report any deviations from these procedures.
- Accurately complete all relevant documentation
- Take in chemical deliveries, including unloading vehicles, completing booking in documentation, labelling and storing chemicals in correct locations
- Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the warehouse management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded to ensure accuracy
- Identify and solve problems quickly and effectively using own initiative and experience
- Prioritise and able to multi-task across a wide variety of tasks
- Positive and ‘can do’ attitude, and open to change.
- Flexibility to conduct duties outside of normal remit.
- Ability to communicate at all levels and able to work in a structured organised manner.
- Systematic approach to problem-solving to rectify manufacturing issues in advance of production requirements.
- Technical proficiency in process operations, ideally within a chemical environment/industry.
- Bendi, Islemaster or counterbalance forklift truck licence preferred but not essential.
- Flexibility to alter working hours when required to ensure that planned batches are completed and dispensed ready for production.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.39-£12.64 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week
