Job Summary
We seek an experienced, detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will maintain an accurate inventory catalogue and ensure data accuracy within our inventory management system. You will collaborate closely with engineers to develop new content, update existing materials, and research new hardware components to keep our inventory current and relevant. This role requires meticulous attention to detail for accurately inputting inventory items such as servers, switches, PCs, laptops, and all associated components into our Microsoft NAV ERP system and ensuring that physical stock matches digital records.
Strong knowledge of IT hardware and components is essential for success in this role. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic warehouse environment, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our inventory management systems.
Location & Hours
We are located in the beautiful village of Ribchester (PR3 3XL), so candidates must be able to commute to our location. Our standard working hours are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and accurately enter new inventory information for IT hardware items, including servers, PCs, laptops, and components into the Microsoft NAV ERP system.
  • Collaborate with Magento catalogue managers to ensure accurate and up-to-date product information is reflected in the inventory catalogue.
  • Work with engineers to create new content, update existing materials, and research new hardware.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and analyst teams to ensure inventory levels are maintained and updated according to organisational needs.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of IT hardware and components to accurately categorise and input inventory items.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on disassembly processes to ensure parts are being sorted accurately.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to inventory processes and systems for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Skills
  • Fast typing skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware and components, with a willingness to stay updated with industry trends and new technologies in inventory management and hardware components.
  • Competence in researching and evaluating new hardware components for inventory inclusion.
  • Exceptional precision in data entry and record-keeping to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Aptitude for identifying and correcting stock issues and inventory problems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Capability to lift and move IT hardware and components as required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft NAV or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse operations or inventory management.
  • Required: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Required: Demonstrated knowledge of IT hardware, including servers, PCs, laptops, and components.
  • Preferred: Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Certifications or additional training in inventory management or ERP systems, particularly Microsoft NAV.
