PG Assist Ltd requires a Lab Assistant to join our existing team to be based in Longbenton, Newcastle.

Description of work:
This is a new standalone role, which will require a motivated self-starter able to communicate face-to-face, and via email, phone, and video calls with colleagues around the world.
There are two sides to this role, the first involves handling requests for enzymatic standards samples from our global research and production community, creating solutions of the requested samples and preparing them for shipping to research and production centres.
The second part of this role is to provide lab support to colleagues, preparing and running tests, to assist in generating data for on-going projects.
Day-to-day this would involve working closely with site contacts to determine priorities and complete the work as required, including but not limited to

• Sample preparation and analysis.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring cleanliness and organisation.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to perform tests and experiments accurately.
• Record data accurately using laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

Candidates should have:

• Background and interest in science.
• Strong familiarity with lab skills.
• Strong familiarity with digital technology.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to build relationships quickly.
