Role Overview:
As a Light Motor Vehicle Apprentice, you will work alongside qualified mechanics to learn the essential skills and techniques needed to become a fully qualified light vehicle mechanic. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on a wide range of vehicles, from small cars to light commercial vehicles, and receive professional training toward your certification.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of light motor vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Learn how to perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and vehicle inspections.
• Work with diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and repair vehicle faults.
• Help with the disassembly and reassembly of vehicle components, ensuring all repairs are carried out according to manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
• Record and track the work completed on vehicles, ensuring accurate service histories.
• Follow instructions from senior mechanics and take part in training programs to further develop skills and knowledge.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualifications: No prior experience is required, but a strong interest in vehicles and mechanics is essential.
• Skills: Basic understanding of vehicles and mechanical systems, with the ability to work with tools and equipment.
• Personal Traits: Motivated, reliable, and eager to learn. You should have good attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and be committed to high standards of work.
• Additional Requirements: Willingness to undertake formal training (such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology) and work toward becoming a fully qualified mechanic.
