Job Summary
Responsible for NPI, cost saving, process improvement and scrap reduction activity, in addition to providing technical support within the designated key area. When capacity dictates, may also be required to assist other Applications Engineer's in their sections.
In addition to the mandatory requirements you may be asked to undertake additional activities should the business needs require this. These will be requested on an ad-hoc basis by the Applications Engineering Lead.
Key Responsibilities
Pay: £38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Key Responsibilities
- To provide technical support to the shop floor when requested to so so by the Applications Engineer or Senior Team Leaders.
- Creating process drawings for all internal manufacturing operations (exceptions to be agreed at New Part Meetings).
- Design work holding requirements and create technical drawings. For internal manufacture, create MRC, procure material and liaise with Planning to arrange manufacture. For external manufacture, procure quotation(s) and submit to Process Engineer.
- Identifying required measuring equipment and cutting tools for manufacturing processes and the creation of MIPC's, setting sheets and work instructions.
- The creation and validation of CNC programs for machining operations utilising the designated software provided.
- Responsible for the software control and issue status of all CNC programs in the 'Originals' folder within the designated key area.
- Responsible for conducting PCN activity within the allotted timeframe and ensuring Microsoft Teams reflects current status of tasks.
- Completing JDI and Improvement Clinic activity for designated key area of responsibility and assisting colleagues were required
- Ensuring assigned Microsoft Teams actions are complete within the designated timeframe or escalated to Applications Engineering Lead. Status of Teams tasks must updated and representative of current status.
- Raise a minimum of two cost saving documents per calendar month identifying potential saving initiatives.
- Ensure 'Monthly Metrics' board is populated, representative of current status and communicated via the weekly stand up meetings.
- Engineering Degree or time served Engineer with 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
- Excellent working knowledge and experience with CNC machining
- Aerospace & Defence experience
- Experience of using Powershape, Power Mill and (or) Solidworks Can Works Desired
- Understanding of basic lean principles
- Machine shop floor experience - Advantage
