Project Process Engineer

You will join an established team of process engineers in our Edinburgh or Glasgow office that continue to excel in the resource management and renewables sector and will provide input and support on a wide range of interesting and challenging projects, including established and new and innovative technologies. We actively encourage the professional development of our engineers with a graduate training programme and a chartership mentoring scheme.

The Role
The role will be primarily focused on all aspects of the waste, recycling and circular economy sectors and will support business development activities and other specialists on a range of projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting project delivery across the life of the project
- Assisting with review of third-party designs, technical proposals, operational models and technical due diligence reports for funders
- Preparing technical and procurement documentation and schematics/drawings
- Supervising and monitoring site construction and installation projects and working on site
- Assisting with the preparation of models to determine plant energy and mass balances, emission rates and financial/operational models, including thermodynamic calculations and basic financial metrics
- Assisting other teams within SLR with technical and process engineering aspects of diverse projects
About You
We are looking for someone with a degree in engineering and an interest in sustainability. You will be able to work alongside colleagues in other disciplines as part of SLR’s One Team culture. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to multitask, juggle priorities and organise and plan your own activities.
- Do you have a degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, process or electrical)?
- Are you interested in the recycling and waste/ recovery or related fields and have a commitment to help the world progress to a sustainable future and reduce environmental impacts?
- Are you numerate and confident with data? Do you have excellent modelling and report writing skills? Are you IT literate particularly with Excel, Word, and Power Point?
- Can you work independently and within a team?
- Are you a problem solver who is well organised and a logical thinker happy to challenge the status quo?
- Are you able to prioritise your workloads when you have multiple items of work at the same time?
- Do you have a full, current, clean driving licence and the ability to travel and work away from home?
