DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

4Studio is the driving force behind C4’s digital acceleration strategy, with the objective to create, adapt and distribute brilliant content across our social and digital channels, building engaged audiences that deliver digital views at scale.

JOB PURPOSE

The Social Producer-Publisher: Sport requires a passion and strong knowledge of what works across the content spectrum digitally and on all social media platforms for the audiences we want to access. You should be an expert in delivering and publishing projects on time, on budget and on brief, through proactive and appropriate management of project scope and resources. You should be an adept in editing and be close buddies with Premiere Pro and preferably After Effects.

You should have experience of creating content to briefs and working with brands and agencies. You should be used to working within the complex rights arrangements and working patterns that come with working in Sport.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The production of digital and social assets from idea to publication, to support linear sports programming, as well as some original content creation - ranging from technical production to social video production
  • You’ll ideally have experience producing a wide variety of content - everything from compilations, short-form series, memes and anything in-between
  • You’ll be responsible for writing brilliant copy to accompany your content
  • You’ll have experience of generating ideas for different audience types, and the best ways to reach them through the sports rights we acquire
  • You’ll be responsible for publishing the content you make. As such, you’ll be comfortable with social publishing processes and calendars to ensure the content you’re making reaches its audience correctly and on time
  • You’re obsessive about sport and be able to talk with knowledge to your colleagues and partners. You can put yourself into the mindset of a sports fan, because you are one
  • As well as coming up with the ideas, you’ll be able to follow them through to delivery – you could shoot and edit this stuff if you needed to
  • You will be familiar with the Ofcom code, broadcast regulations and platform regulations. You’ll be responsible for what goes live
  • Sports rights can be complicated, you won’t be phased by that
  • You will need to be curious and a voracious consumer of culture so you can identify the content that will appeal most to your audience
  • You will be required to manage the, sometimes competing, demands of key stakeholders and clients. Cool under pressure and excellent powers of persuasion are required
  • You’ll need experience of working to strict budgets
  • You’ll be managing and developing any of the P2 or below level team in Sport
  • You won’t be responsible for reporting, but you should still be interested in results, be able to interpret them and use results to inform your future work
  • You’ll be required to work some irregular hours and weekends to coincide with sporting events calendars.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Technical & Professional Skills
  • Must have a good knowledge of all areas of online marketing and content creation
  • Proven experience of the production of digital content and social assets - ranging from technical production to social video production, including editing
  • Proven experience of generating ideas that generate strong results for reach and engagement
  • Prior experience of producing creative projects in order to meet the creative brief
  • Ability to identify relevant audiences for brands and know how we reach them
  • Must have a thorough understanding of processes, workflows, tools and methodologies including social publishing technology
  • Good learning agility and curious about new technologies and solutions – you’ll be a keen learner of the ever-evolving suite of products available
  • Must have an understanding of post-production processes including delivering assets to a variety of technical specifications
  • Experience of using productivity tools such as Monday or Trello is preferred.

Autonomy/Judgement/Decision Making
  • Should be confident in making creative, technical and budgetary decisions
  • Works on a broad variety of matters within the content spectrum, and will sometimes be required to produce an online campaign with limited time, talent and budget.
  • Must be highly organised.

Managing Resources
  • Ability to find, negotiate with and manage local resource (production companies, video editors, motion graphics artists, designers, production assistants etc.) when required
  • Management and development of Assistant(s)
  • Has budgetary control by ensuring that projects are correctly funded and managed independently
  • Will manage entire workflow from ideation through to final delivery.

Relationship Management
  • Proven experience of establishing close working relationships (will be required to build relationships with C4’s departments, agencies and suppliers) and able to communicate with differing departments to meet differing demands
  • Must be willing to travel between offices and for sporting events as required
  • Works regularly with a mixture of people from managers, immediate team, and third-party suppliers
  • Must be collaborative in their approach
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to face a regular mixture of routine and non-routine problems in the role
  • Can demonstrate resilience and remains calm under pressure
  • Must be a proactive problem solver.


Salary
Basic salary starting at £42,875 dependant on experience
