Position: Support Worker
As a Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing practical and emotional support to young people within our supported living accommodation. You will be responsible for fostering a safe and inclusive environment, promoting independence, and assisting residents in developing essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building meaningful relationships with residents based on trust, respect, and empathy.
- Providing practical support with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and personal care.
- Assisting residents in accessing educational, vocational, and recreational activities.
- Implementing individualised support plans and goals in collaboration with residents and the support team.
- Advocating for the rights and needs of residents while promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required.
- Be suitable to work with children and young people - the role involves working with children and young people and it involves safeguarding responsibilities.
- Qualifications: A relevant Level 3 Diploma (e.g., Diploma in Residential Childcare) or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or working with vulnerable children and young people with an understanding of relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety requirements within the newly regulated setting.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work on a shift basis, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as required.
- Resilience: Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrating resilience and professionalism at all times.
- Additional Qualifications: Training or qualifications in areas such as first aid, therapeutic interventions, or mental health support.
- IT Skills: Competency in using IT systems and software for record-keeping, reporting, and communication purposes.

Pay: £13.54 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
