About the team
RSM’s Talent Acquisition Department (TA) is spread across the UK and plays a crucial part within the firm nationally. We are responsible for the co-ordination, management, and strategic direction of the business’ recruitment across Early Careers and Experienced & Executive hiring. We pride ourselves on ensuring the recruitment experience for all parties – applicants, hiring managers and partners – is efficient and of the highest quality. One of TA’s key responsibilities is to recruit the right person into the right job. If you wish to sit at the heart of a collaborative and innovative organisation where you can make a positive impact daily, our team is where you should be!
About the role
As an Early Careers Senior Specialist for work shadowing and interns at RSM, you will be responsible for designing maintaining and delivering these programmes which forms an integral part of our attraction and pipeline strategy. Working closely with the National Early Careers Manager, Early Careers Talent Development and Service Line representatives, you will help deliver the Talent Acquisition strategy in line with our ‘grow your own’ strategy and our diversity agenda.
Responsibilities
  • You will work with the business to coordinate the work shadowing and internship programmes at RSM.
  • You will take the lead creating consistent recruitment processes for the programmes at intern and work experience levels and be ultimately responsible for creating great experiences and filling our pipeline for future student intakes
  • Refining our internship offering as a national programme with service line specific elements within our offices
  • Work with our early careers talent development team to refine the induction and offboarding process for these programmes
  • Build key relationships within the business to ensure clear communication is cascaded within the firm regarding these programmes
  • Review and implement how we offer candidates post programme for consistency and clarity
Work as part of our early careers attraction and outreach team to ensure a joined-up approach nationally
  • Work with the business to design and deliver effective forecasting of these roles each intake for across service lines
  • Maintain a focus on diversity and inclusion within these programmes, especially for work shadowing and utilising RSM’s partnership with Access Accountancy
  • Work with the talent acquisition operations team to ensure we have data driven analysis to understand the return on investment from these programmes
  • Oversee and manage the pipelines to these opportunities through our applicant tracking system
  • Work with our People Operations and Early Careers Pre-boarding teams to ensure a smooth transition post offer and into the business.
  • Look after the allocation of line managers, buddies, and mentors (if required) for the incoming cohorts
  • Work with the 10,000 black interns’ initiative to incorporate this programme into the wider internship offering
  • Work closely with our internal brand and comms team to ensure we have a consistent and quality marketing approach
  • Ensure delivery against D&I targets and support initiatives to attract a diverse talent pool.
  • Act as the champion for trainee experience, ensuring RSM delivers an exceptional experience.
  • Be an RSM brand ambassador, helping to build a robust attraction and outreach strategy to connect and engage the talent.
  • Ad-hoc projects as required.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established but creative team at an exciting part of the journey, working on a hybrid basis and reaping the rewards of being at home and in the office on a weekly basis. Whilst not an entirely remote position, this role affords good agile and flexible working. Due to the location of existing team members and business needs, ideally applicants will reside near one of the following offices:
  • Birmingham
  • Glasgow
  • Edinburgh
  • Manchester
You will also have the chance to visit other offices nationally but, wishing to minimise our carbon footprint, this will likely be occasional (up to twice a year).
About the ideal candidate
What we’re looking for:
  • Communication/ interpersonal skills - you must be an adept communicator, ability to engage an influence across the business.
  • Confidence - you must be comfortable dealing with both senior stakeholders and entry level candidates
  • Discretion - you must be aware of the confidential nature of the work within the boundaries of employment law
  • Professionalism - you are the representative of the company to new starters, so it is essential that you are professional and able to deliver a great experience to our stakeholders and joiners
  • Take pride in the work you deliver
  • Be curious to improve, learn and iterate
  • In addition, a good knowledge of all Microsoft packages is required
  • Candidates are advised that this role requires some national travel from time to time
