What is the opportunity?

A fantastic opportunity working on the RBC Blue Bay Asset Management European Leverage Finance Team. We are looking for a Trader with experience in the Loan (Bank Debt) market to support the investment activities of the European Leverage Finance team. The role will include trading of Loans, High Yield Bonds, CDS and Convertible bonds. Typical trading days begin approx. 7am, supporting vacations in USA office may require backshifts from London.

What will you do?

• Ensure that all trades are accurately traded and enriched within Charles River in a timely manner.
• Ensure best execution principles are adhered to.
• Look for new avenues to get best access to liquidity including new venues
• Monitoring Bloomberg etc for news on holdings and updating Portfolio Managers.
• Accumulating “price driven” information and passing this information to fund managers to keep them informed of market dynamics/relevant axes
• Providing Portfolio Managers with price sensitive news information on credits within the portfolio and with first level information on new issues.
• Liaising with Infrastructure teams to improve accuracy and stability of reporting and core investment systems.
• Improving data around broker stats and TMOC reports
• Ad hoc mini projects to support the trading function
• Building relationships with the dealer/broker community.
• Providing input to the Liquidity scoring process
• Assisting with testing of new technology and workflows
• Supporting USA trading when required

What do you need to succeed?

• Previous experience in Trading loans
• Knowledge of Investment Grade, HY or EM Fixed Income advantageous (Candidate would be expected to learn across various trading desks)
• The candidate should have a strong working knowledge Bloomberg
