This is a permanent position with the flexibility to work from home.
What You Will Do:
CISPE – Driving innovation and inspiring health solutions!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and execution of complex projects with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Use project management techniques to ensure projects are well-defined, authorized, and aligned with DOH’s strategic goals.
- Develop and implement project plans in collaboration with sponsors, tracking progress and managing budgets, resources, risks, and communications.
- Conduct research and analyze business processes, offering strategies and solutions to optimize outcomes.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and resolutions to stakeholders, including agency executives and partner agencies.
- Lead the official project closure, reporting outcomes to both internal and external partners.
- Support agency-wide project management capacity by providing training and guidance to team members and consulting partners.
- Represent the program at events and conferences, occasionally requiring travel.
- Assist with communications and issue resolution as needed for project success.

Location and Flexibility
What We’re looking for – Required Qualifications:

Professional experience in project management, which includes experience managing complex projects involving multiple staff and invested partners.
- OPTION 1: A minimum of 6 years of experience.
- OPTION 2: A Bachelor’s degree or higher AND two (2) or more years of experience.

AND the following experience:- Experience applying theoretical project management frameworks and methodologies in practical scenarios.
- Experience implementing diverse project management methodologies, techniques, and tools.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary staff to accomplish complex projects.
- Experience utilizing project management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or eligibility for certification.
- Strong familiarity with the internal structure, including key teams / disciplines, reporting lines, and the role of executive offices.
- Experience working in public health at the local, state, or federal level and understanding of their structure and operations.
- Experience in risk management, organizational development and/or strategic planning.
- Experience leading and/or facilitating large groups.
- Experience using Microsoft Project or other project management tools.
- Experience managing projects related to high profile public policy issues.
- Experience managing projects related to large-scale organizational changes, such as reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions and major strategy shifts.

Conditions of Employment:
- Commit to a full-time 40-hour work week schedule (flexible work schedule requests must be approved by your supervisor).
- Communicate through applications such as MS Teams and MS Outlook, and by phone while working remotely.
- Adjust my work schedule occasionally to align with business needs, which may entail working evenings and weekends.
- Perform my job duties either remotely from home or in-person at the designated DOH site location.
- Occasional travel may be necessary, sometimes requiring overnight stays or trips out of state. You must be able to legally drive a vehicle or arrange alternative transportation for state business.
- Engage in emergency response exercises and high-priority assignments as assigned during emergency events.
- Representation: This position is covered by a bargaining unit for which the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) is the exclusive representative.
