Position Information
There is one (1) current vacancy with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, located in Honolulu. Under the general supervision of the Customer Service and Records Supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for processing of credit card payments and providing basic customer assistance. In addition, the Office Assistant II independently handles a variety of day-to-day office assignments such as preparing, processing, and filing forms, records and similar materials in accordance with general instructions and procedures.
The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Assists customers via telephone with requests to pay bills by credit card. Collects
transaction information from the customer and inputs it into credit card transaction terminal accurately. -
Accepts payments and requests to void/refund transactions in accordance with the
established policy. Discusses alternative payment methods and channels available to the customer. - Provides basic account information such as balances, billing dates, payment due dates, historical transaction information to customers.
- Processes basic account transactions such as account maintenance requests, automatic bill payment enrollment/changes/cancellations, and returned mail. Prepares template and other routine letters.
- Provides lobby support by greeting and directing customers, and assisting them with routine inquiries and requests.

There is one (1) anticipated vacancy with the Department of Environmental Services, Collection System Maintenance Division. Certain positions may require a more comprehensive check, including use of the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification (IAFIS) database and State records, as applicable.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Substantially equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience that demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
One (1) year of clerical experience.
Substitution: Business school or college level credits from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute for experience on a month-for-month basis for the required clerical experience.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to education earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
