About the team
Insurance services manage the City’s Insurance portfolio ensuring that the City effectively manages insurance risk. The Business Unit (BU) delivers professional, proactive and best practice insurance and liability services and advice. The wider portfolio consists of General Insurance and Workers Compensation and the BU also oversees the management of the City of Gold Coast Insurance Company Limited (our Captive insurance company)
About your new role
The Coordinator General insurance is responsible for leading and developing a small team of professionals who apply specialist knowledge and provide strategic and tactical advice in relation to diverse insurance classes and matters.
The role assists the General Manager in managing the City's insurance portfolio including the effective management and understanding of insurance risk for Council.

• The ability to manage the General Insurance business unit for the City of Gold Coast Council
• Experience driving the strategy and continuous improvement of a general insurance portfolio preferable in a major public sector department or local government.
• Leadership capability to manage risk and ensure effective insurance coverage for the City of Gold Coast Council.
• Experience analysing insurance data to identify trends, costs, drivers and opportunities for improvement
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others
• Deep understanding of insurance across various classes including public liability, property insurance, professional indemnity, motor vehicle and other various classes.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
