Job Responsibilities

Health, Safety and Risk

• Ensure commercial risks associated with attainment of project KPI's are identified and effective controls are in place to manage the risk
• Perform risk assessments and quantify risk contingencies in accordance with company policy
• Monitor and manage risk reporting on major projects in accordance with company policy
• Ensure activates requiring exposure to Critical Risks are identified and mandatory controls are in place and effective
• Ensure requirements of Safety, Health and Environmental Management Plan are in place and effective

Technical/Operational

• Attend/organise conference attendance and sponsorships and other business development opportunities
• Ensure commercial scheduling, monitoring and reporting processes are effective, accurate and aligned to client requirements
• Commercial risks and opportunities associated with achieving 3 month production plan identified and control plans in place
• Ensure relevant Project Management Plans are in place and effective
• Ensure accountable commercial actions within the business risk model are in place and effective
• Ensure all commercial employees participate in the reward and recognition scheme
• Be accountable for all commercial aspects of major tenders and projects
• Ensure monthly claims for all contracts in a timely manner and submitted to the client
• Ensure all contract documentation is reviewed by commercial/legal department prior to acceptance and execution
• Actively participate in weekly BU meetings and provide updates on relevant contractual, business, safety, and general matters
• Ensure commercial risks associated with attainment of project KPI's are identified and effective controls are in place to manage the risk
• Monitor individual contract/site performance and identify issues/potential issues (safety, operational, contractual)

Commercial/Financial

• Ensure accurate compilation of statistics, invoicing, and general record keeping
• Establish and maintain automated costing system
• Ensure monthly invoices for all contracts are issued as soon as practicable following month end
• Identify and justify capital expenditure required to meet business requirements
• Ensure all significant production non-conformances are investigated immediately to determine root cause and corrective action to re-align with project KPI's
• Compile annual budgets and quarterly forecasts

People Management

• Negotiate commercial terms for key contracts with clients and suppliers
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions with customers, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
• Mentor and coach other commercial managers and/or tendering team
• Lead and motivate the production team to demand high standards of safety and performance
• Ensure the team is aware of KPI's and achieve 100% of their respective KPI's

Team Contribution

• Liaise with clients and deal with contractual matters as required
• Work closely with the Business Unit Managers and General Manager to set and meet budget and forecast targets
