Your part in our Uniting Care team
Culture and Leadership
  • Embrace and contribute to a culture that recognises individual strengths and looks to support the ongoing development of a high performing team.
  • Collaboratively lead a culturally informed Uniting Care Leadership Framework, to provide supportive leadership and capability uplift.
  • Co-creation of tools and practice frameworks that support the delivery of consistent best practice when engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, patients, cultural specialists, and Elders across the state.
Workforce
  • Establish a supportive workplace culture by working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous stakeholders including senior management, managers, supervisors and staff to gain a holistic understanding of determinants surrounding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment.
  • Work collaboratively with Uniting Care leadership in the development of a Reconciliation and Workforce Strategy which supports the implementation of RAP initiatives and targets.
  • Co-design with Uniting Care leadership a framework which supports a culture of safety within the organisation.
  • Perform an advisory role across Uniting Care in relation to complex Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cases, partnership and engagement matters of policy and procedure implementation.
Networking and Innovation
  • Develop and maintain an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander network across selected service groups to advance information sharing, supporting peer learning and interaction, provide a collective voice on matters impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees to share business initiatives and innovation.
  • Establish networks and relationships with Uniting Care Australia and its agencies to positively influence First Nations affairs nationally.
  • Support the works that inform the development of new service models, evidence based on community need, contemporary best practice, research, community profiles and evidence-based practice models, to achieve strategic priorities and aspirations.
Capability Enhancement – Reconciliation and Covenant
  • Work within the Uniting Care RAP implementation framework as approved by the AGR to ensure a focused approach to reconciliation while remaining agile to change in the sector and organisation.
  • Work alongside key Uniting Care groups in the development and implementation of RAP initiative and targets.
  • Work alongside the Director of Mission to understand the Covenanting story and embed broader spiritual theological knowledge into the Mission of Uniting Care Queensland reconciliation in action.
  • Support the work that informs the development of new service models, evidence based on community need, contemporary best practice, research, community profiles and evidence-based practice models, in order to achieve strategic priorities and aspirations.
Reporting and Oversight
  • Gives oversight to the preparation and submission of the monthly RAPWorks report, the annual RAP Impact Statement and Quarterly AGR RAP Reports.
  • Ensure RAP reporting is provided to the Executive Leadership team and the board frequently on the progress and impact of the Reconciliation Action Plan.
  • Manage alongside the Director of Mission, the financial performance of the RAP and government funded contracts received to support RAP initiatives.
  • Oversee the Reconciliation communications programs across internal and external social channels as well as ensure internal (intranet) and external Reconciliation websites are updated on a regular basis.
Other Duties
  • Other reasonable duties pertaining to supporting the works of reconciliation as directed by the Director of Mission.
  • Lead strategic projects and activities as required.

  • Tertiary qualifications/certifications or proven competency in workforce support and systems management, or related industry experience.
  • Demonstrated digital competency and written communication skills for a range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated oral communication skills and ability to collaborate and influence effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience working with organisations to improve their culturally informed workforce practices to build meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
