Data Governance Officer- Hybrid (Brussels, Belgium)

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Chief Data Officer, Data Governance Officer, and Data Communications Consultant to define and implement the data governance strategy.
- Design and establish a data organization with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
- Develop and implement data governance bodies, processes, standards, and policies.
- Establish foundational data management processes, including data quality and data documentation (business glossary and data dictionary).
- Advise on the selection of appropriate tools to support data governance and management processes.
- Ensure the successful onboarding of stakeholders by contributing to the creation of a compelling data story in collaboration with the Data Communications Consultant.
- Fluent in French or Dutch, with at least passive knowledge of the other language.
- Proven experience implementing data governance strategies in a multi-entity organization.
- Strong understanding of data governance concepts, including data quality and data documentation (business glossary, data dictionary).
- Experience applying best practices, methodologies, and standards for data governance and management.
- Hands-on experience with data governance tools like Collibra, Informatica, or similar platforms for data cataloging, data quality, and data documentation.
- Basic knowledge of data architecture and familiarity with SQL.
- Experience in project and process management, with a strong background in change management.
- Certification in frameworks such as Dama DMBok or DCAM is a plus.
