Volunteer Program Director for 1000 Seeds - RISEC Community Foundation

RISEC Community Foundation is dedicated to fostering inclusive growth and supporting newcomers in Canada through education, mentorship, and career development. Our flagship initiative, the 1000 Seeds Program, is a catalyst for change, designed to connect businesses with newcomers to provide short-term employment opportunities, mentorship, and valuable work experience.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Volunteer Program Director to lead our 1000 Seeds Program. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our community by forging partnerships with businesses and employers, and by overseeing a dedicated team focused on empowering newcomers to Canada. You will work closely with Professional Mentors, Education Advisors, Career Advisors, Job Placement Managers, Program Administrators, and Business Development Managers to ensure the program's success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Program Strategy: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the goals of the 1000 Seeds Program, focusing on expanding partnerships with businesses and creating employment opportunities for newcomers.
- Build and Maintain Partnerships: Engage with businesses, employers, and community organizations to secure mentorships, internships, and job placements for program participants.
- Oversee Program Operations: Manage day-to-day operations, including program planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring alignment with the Foundation’s mission and objectives.
- Collaborate with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with Professional Mentors, Education Advisors, Career Advisors, Job Placement Managers, Program Administrators, and Business Development Managers to provide comprehensive support to newcomers.
- Monitor and Evaluate Program Impact: Track program outcomes, measure success, and continuously improve the program based on feedback and data analysis.
- Mentor and Support Team Members: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the program team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Promote the Program: Represent the 1000 Seeds Program at community events, conferences, and in communications with stakeholders to raise awareness and attract new partners.
- Ensure Program Sustainability: Develop strategies for long-term sustainability and growth of the program, including funding and resource management.
- Program Management Experience: Proven experience in program management, particularly in community development, workforce development, or a related field.
- Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and manage a diverse team of professionals and volunteers.
- Partnership Building: Experience in developing and maintaining successful partnerships with businesses, employers, and community organizations.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals and drive program success.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders.
- Organizational and Analytical Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, analyze data, and make informed decisions.
- Passion for Community Service: A deep commitment to supporting newcomers and fostering an inclusive, diverse workforce in Canada.
- Cultural Competence: Understanding and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds, with a focus on creating inclusive environments.
