We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to ensure compliance with health and safety standards through systematic monitoring and evaluation of work procedures at a major construction project. You will be instrumental in maintaining the highest safety standards while working collaboratively with consultants and project teams.
This role demands an individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to implement and maintain robust safety management systems.
Requires:
· University or Technical Institute degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant field with construction sector experience
· Minimum 5 years in the Technical sector with at least 2 years in similar safety positions
· Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken)
· Strong understanding of international and local health & safety standards
· Valid driving license and own vehicle
· Willingness to work on projects throughout Greece & abroad
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensuring compliance with international and local health & safety standards
· Developing and implementing internal safety procedures and policies
· Conducting regular site safety inspections and audits
· Managing and documenting safety incidents
· Preparing detailed incident reports and improvement recommendations
· Maintaining safety management documentation and systems
· Participating in project meetings and presenting safety findings
· Collaborating with external safety consultants and internal teams
· Monitoring contractor and subcontractor safety performance
Technical Skills & Attributes:
· In-depth knowledge of health & safety regulations and standards
· Strong risk assessment and mitigation capabilities
· Excellence in safety documentation and reporting
· Proven ability to identify and address safety hazards
· Strong stakeholder management skills
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Excellent communication abilities at all organisational levels
Experience in M&E projects and fire protection system installations in building projects is advantageous but not mandatory.
This is a critical role requiring someone who can take complete ownership of safety systems while fostering strong collaboration across all stakeholders. We are seeking an individual who brings methodical thinking and unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.
