ICAP Executive Search on behalf of its client, an innovative Software Development and Integrated ICT Solutions in Greece, is seeking for a GIS Developer to join their team in Athens.

GIS Developer – Ref. 5702/GIS/ESS/GR

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, analyzing, and developing the Geographic Information System (GIS) components of their products and applications. You will collaborate with a team of developers to deliver high-quality, responsive, and innovative GIS solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated web-based GIS applications, ensuring functionality and scalability.

Develop and manage spatial databases, focusing on data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into robust GIS solutions.

Implement modern web mapping technologies, leveraging Java Script libraries such as Leaflet, Open Layers, Mapbox, and Google Maps API to create interactive and user-friendly mapping experiences.

Manage and configure OGC-compliant web services (WMS, WFS, WFS-T) within the Geoserver environment for seamless data integration.

Optimize spatial queries and database performance using Postgre SQL/Post GIS to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.

Build backend services with Node JS and Express to handle data management, requests, and API integration.

Utilize React JS to develop responsive, high-performance user interfaces, adhering to best practices in state management, preferably with Redux.

Ensure seamless integration of relational databases like Postgre SQL and My SQL to support comprehensive GIS application functionality.

Perform advanced spatial analysis and queries to deliver in-depth GIS capabilities.

Continuously enhance and maintain existing GIS functionalities, ensuring application reliability and performance improvements.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related fields.

Proven experience as a GIS Developer or similar role.

Experience in building responsive web applications using React JS.

Strong understanding of Redux or other state management architectures.

Familiarity with OGC web services and their implementation using Geoserver.

Experience with Node JS and Express for server-side web application development.

Hands-on experience with libraries such as Leaflet, Open Layers, Mapbox, and Google Maps API.

Proficiency in relational databases, specifically Postgre SQL and My SQL.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
