PRIORITY, one of the largest and fastest growing Management and IT consulting firms in Greece, is currently handling an IT Infrastructure Application Owner role, on behalf of our client, in the Banking/Insurance sector.
Job profile summary:
In this role, you will be an integral part of our client’s Group IT Operations, responsible for designing, analyzing, delivering, and maintaining their infrastructure application solutions. This involves architecting and implementing modern technologies, ensuring security best practices are integrated into every solution, and maintaining the seamless operation of services and platforms, whether hosted in data centers or on public cloud providers.
As an Infrastructure Application Owner, you will take a hands-on approach to architecting, delivering, and maintaining advanced technologies. Your duties will include leading, designing, implementing, and sustaining improvements in standards and security frameworks. You will collaborate closely with the Group IT Security and Group IT teams to deploy new or existing technologies, policies, and procedures, ensuring system availability and spearheading relevant initiatives.

As an Infrastructure Application Owner, you will take a hands-on approach to architecting, delivering, and maintaining advanced technologies. Your duties will include leading, designing, implementing, and sustaining improvements in standards and security frameworks. You will collaborate closely with the Group IT Security and Group IT teams to deploy new or existing technologies, policies, and procedures, ensuring system availability and spearheading relevant initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make confident technical and business decisions that align with the needs of business executives and engineering teams.
- Identify improvement areas and develop a long-term quality enhancement program covering both technology and business aspects of the software application.
- Lead the architecture and deployment of new or existing technologies to enhance working methods and overall efficiency, with extensive experience in both on-premises and cloud technologies (including OSs, virtualization, database security, networking, firewalling, cloud security (Azure and AWS/GCP), and containerization technologies such as Openshift/Kubernetes).
- Demonstrate significant experience in Application Server implementation (IIS, JBoss, Web Logic, Apache/Tomcat) and advanced architectural design knowledge (2Tier/3Tier Applications).
- Have proficiency in Java scripting and REST API.
- Ensure that infrastructure and operational services comply with agreed security and service levels, overseeing the effectiveness of security implementations.
- Possess knowledge of RDBMS (SQL, Oracle, My SQL, etc.) and application-database connectivity.
- Have a basic understanding of networking concepts (Firewall, Load Balancing, Routing).
- Be well-versed in Hypervisor standards (VMWare/Hyper-V).
- Exhibit technical project management skills for coordinating unit projects.
Qualifications/Skills:
- 3 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in the banking/insurance or consulting industry, including experience in collaborating with and presenting to top management.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
- In-depth understanding of infrastructure architecture and experience in coordinating complex cross-functional IT projects with large teams.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to build confidence among team members.
Additionally, preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with system coding and scripting for administration (e.g., Python, Perl, Go).
- Familiarity with Jira ticketing tools.
- Strong knowledge of cloud services such as MS Azure, Amazon, IBM Bluemix, etc.
- Experience in administering and configuring container distribution platforms like Docker and container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes.
