Finance Manager

Job Posting Details

The Finance Manager will lead a team within the Financial Planning and Reporting Unit, reporting directly to the Associate Director of the Finance Office.

The role involves overseeing the preparation of financial statements, managing budget processes, conducting financial analysis, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and leading process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive financial statements and reports on a regular basis.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of financial statements, perform variance analysis, and provide insights.
  • Assist in the preparation of the University's annual budget and analyze budget proposals.
  • Compile Common Data Collection Format (CDCF) reports and fulfill financial reporting requirements.
  • Support financial matters for subsidiaries in Hong Kong and Mainland China, including reviewing reports and financial statements.
  • Review insurance policies, handle claims, and ensure compliance with established policies.
  • Lead projects to enhance financial processes and operational efficiency.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by supervisors.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and a recognized professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in universities, NGOs, or sizable organizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently under pressure, and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
  • Preferred experience in Mainland China accounting activities.
Duration: 2 years (renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
