Manager - Business Planning and Budgeting (Japanese Speaking)

Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious Japanese bank in Hong Kong as a Manager in the Business planning and budgeting team. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong management accounting experience to oversee budget planning and control for their Hong Kong office while maintaining regular communication with our Head Office in Tokyo.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the budget planning process, including data analysis and preparation of financial forecasts for the Hong Kong office.
  • Oversee budget control activities, ensuring adherence to financial targets and identifying variances.
  • Communicate frequently with Head Office departments in Tokyo, providing necessary reports and updates on financial performance and budget matters.
  • Analyze financial data to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding budget management and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather relevant information for accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements in all financial operations.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of management accounting processes and systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management accounting experience in a banking or financial services environment; candidates with lesser experience may be considered for an Assistant Manager role.
  • Proficiency in Japanese at N1 level is required for effective communication with Head Office.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with financial reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
