Entry Requirements:
Candidates should have -
(a) obtained a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering or Building Studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/ polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/ technical college, or equivalent;
(b) minimum 20 years’ relevant post-qualification working experience in civil engineering works, with at least 10 years in supervisory role at senior rank or above and 3 years’ working experience in implementing railway construction projects;
(c) at least 1 years’ experience in carrying out project supervision, monitoring and checking under risk-based approach;
(d) at least 1 years’ experience in manipulating relevant information systems and digital platforms relating to site inspection; and
(e) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [Note 1], or equivalent.

Note:
1. Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
2. Candidates should obtain all the above-mentioned entry requirements on or before the closing date for application.

Duties:
(a) To lead an in-house inspection team formed by inspectorate and supervisory staff to carry out site handover inspection for the railway and related works and site checking for railway projects and related works;
(b) To develop inspection and site checking method and programme to facilitate the inspection and site checking;
(c) To coordinate among relevant parties for the arrangement of inspections and site checking;
(d) To review the inspection and site checking results and to follow up the defect list;
(e) To carry out daily management and supervision of inspectorate and supervisory staff; and
(f) To undertake any other duties as assigned by the management.

Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one year.

Fringe Benefits
An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted to the appointee upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance.

General Notes:
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. (a) Application forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centre of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (https://www.csb.gov.hk).

(b) The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) has been in use with effect from 26 July 2023. If candidates submit the old version form G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.

(c) Completed application forms, together with copies of (i) relevant official transcripts, certificates and other documentary evidence in support of academic qualifications; (ii) employment records and other documentary evidence; and (iii) certificate in support of fulfillment of Chinese & English language requirements, should reach the below contact address on or before 30 October 2024. (e) For submission of the application and/or the supporting documents by post, the postmark date(s) on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application and/or submission of supporting documents. To avoid unsuccessful delivery of mail items, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been paid before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Department and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. An applicant will bear any consequences arising from not paying sufficient postage.

(f) If applications are late or incomplete, or not made in the prescribed form, or submitted by fax or e-mail, or without copies of the relevant supporting documents, or if the relevant supporting documents are received after the above specified dates or are insufficient, such applications will NOT be considered.
