The University is in search of skilled professionals to join the Laboratory Services (LS) Unit within the Campus Management Office. This role will support the Senior Manager in planning and designing both existing laboratories and new laboratory buildings. The goal is to create modern, suitable, and sustainable labs that enable world-class researchers to advance their academic pursuits.

Key Responsibilities

Collaboration with Academics: Work closely with faculty to develop laboratory designs that comply with regulations while addressing their specific needs.
Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that user requirements are clearly understood and integrated into the design process.
Site Monitoring: Oversee site activities, focusing on material management, adherence to schedules, and safety protocols.
Post-Installation Management: Handle post-installation tasks, including testing, commissioning, and the transition of projects to the maintenance team.
Occupancy Facilitation: Assist lab users in settling in post-handover by coordinating necessary fitting-out works.
Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or a related field, along with the following experience requirements:

Degree Holders: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Higher Diploma Holders: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Additionally, candidates shall demonstrate proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese.

Required Skills and Attributes

Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A high level of responsibility and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Experience

The ideal candidate should possess experience in the design and installation of MEP systems and room fit-out renovations, particularly in one or more of the following sectors:

Laboratory facilities
Office buildings
Hotels
Hospitals

(Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
