The Great Southern Killarney, a landmark in hospitality since 1854, are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy General Manager to join our leadership team. As the Deputy General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the hotel's operations. You will ensure that every department—from front office to food and beverage, housekeeping, and beyond—operates seamlessly, delivering exceptional service to our guests.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire a dedicated team, drive operational excellence, and contribute to the continued success of our prestigious property.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist the General Manager in the day-to-day management of the hotel, ensuring all operational standards are met or exceeded.
· Lead, mentor, and develop department heads and their teams to maintain high levels of motivation, commitment, and performance.
· Oversee guest relations to ensure that each guest enjoys a personalized and memorable experience.
· Manage budgets, financial performance, and resources to achieve business objectives and maximize profitability.
· Implement and monitor service standards, policies, and procedures to maintain the highest level of quality and consistency.
· Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute strategies that drive occupancy, revenue, and brand recognition.
· Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and legal regulations.
· Handle guest complaints and resolve issues in a professional and efficient manner.
· Represent the General Manager in their absence, making critical decisions and providing leadership support.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field preferable.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hotel management in a leadership role within a luxury hotel environment.
· Proven track record of success in managing hotel operations, with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction and financial performance.
· Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work well under pressure.
· In-depth knowledge of hotel operations, including front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, and maintenance.
· Proficiency in hotel management software and MS Office Suite.
