Hotel General Manager - Schull Harbour Hotel

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, community-driven, and business-savvy General Manager to lead Schull Harbour Hotel. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of the hotel, ensuring operational excellence and profitability across accommodation, food & beverage outlets, leisure facilities, and events. A critical focus of this role will be on building our wedding and events business while fostering strong community relationships to make the hotel an integral part of the local area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations across all departments, ensuring high standards of service, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
- Community Engagement: Build strong relationships within the local community, making the hotel a welcoming hub and valued resource in Schull.
- Events & Wedding Business Development: Strategically grow the hotel’s weddings and events business, managing and promoting the function room to maximize occupancy and profitability.
- Financial Management: Drive revenue growth, manage budgets, and ensure financial targets are met across all hotel departments.
- Team Development: Lead, inspire, and develop a dedicated team, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Customer Experience: Ensure exceptional service and memorable experiences for all guests, fostering loyalty and positive reviews.
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in a senior management role within a hospitality environment.
- Demonstrable success in event planning and business development, with a track record in building a wedding and events business.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for community involvement.
- Excellent financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and revenue management.
- A proactive, hands-on leader with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
