Some of your key responsibilities:

• Providing professional knowledge, experience and advice to the Fleet Group and HSEQ Department as required, as well as providing professional knowledge, experience, training and advice to the Fleet Operational team. Implementing and maintaining the accreditation of vessels to the requirements of the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention.
• To act as the Designated Person (DP) to ensure the safe operation of every ship and to provide a link between the Company and those on board. The Designated Person has access to the highest level of management within the Company.
• To act as a Company Security Officer (CSO) ensuring that a ship security assessment is carried out; that a ship security plan is developed, submitted for approval, and thereafter implemented and maintained and for liaison with Port Facility Security Officers and the Ship Security Officer.

Qualifications:

• Certificate of competency STCW II/2 (unlimited) or bachelor’s degree in Nautical science or similar or sufficient experience in Marine Operations role within Fleet operations
• Experience as a Senior Officer preferably with a minimum 5-year sea time or extensive experience from a Marine Superintendent role
• Leadership experience in mentoring and leading Senior Officers.
• Extensive knowledge in ISM and ISPS as well as operations, technical and safety of vessels.
• Financial knowledge of budgets and cost control
• Good understanding of the key concepts of Health and Safety
• Knowledge of incident investigation and Root Cause Analysis
• Fluent in spoken and written English and French
• Spanish and Arabic is a plus
• If applicable, able to obtain permission to work in Morocco (VISA)
