APG
DevOps Engineer as Developer of the new Asset Management Data Platform
Heerlen
FULL TIME
October 11, 2024
Dit wordt je functie
The role
This is your chance as a Dev Ops engineer, specialized as Developer in the Data domain, to contribute to delivering value via Data of one of the world’s largest pension investors. APG Asset Management manages a portfolio of approximately 500 billion euros in the Netherlands. As a giant in the asset management landscape, we offer a unique challenge of contributing to the implementation of our Data Platform, with migration into the cloud as one of our spearheads.
We are currently in an interesting phase where both the new Asset Management Data Platform is being developed as well as current solutions are maintained and need to be migrated. You will be part of all those developments. In this role, your primary responsibility is to extract data from various sources in different formats and integrate it into the Data Platform, preparing it for further distribution and consumption. You will do this in a highly structured manner, implementing solutions to automate these processes as much as possible and enabling users from other teams to make data available themselves on the data platform.
Additionally, you will support your colleagues in analyzing business requests, testing the delivered solutions and maintain the developed solutions. You will be a crucial link in the entire process: from business request to data availability!
You will work within the Value Stream Data Sourcing and Distribution, which is at the forefront of one of the most significant transformations within Asset Management-COO. This Value Stream is part of the newly established Data Office and collaborates with other departments within the Data Office to develop an innovative Data Platform. The team you will join is responsible for extracting data from multiple sources and distribute this data for use in business processes and business Use Cases. This all in a managed way, automated as much as possible, taking data governance policies into account, enabling other teams to extract source data themselves as well.
What you would do
- Develop and automate data pipelines: Extraction, Load & Transformation
- Maintain the solutions the team build (you build it, you run it!)
- Innovate: implement future ready solutions
What you bring
You are eager to bring APG Asset Management to a higher level and unluck the potential of our data. You have great stakeholder skills and are eager to learn new techniques. You are a real team player with a good command of English and good communication skills.
Also, you have:
-
A Bachelor or Master degree in Information Technology.
Pre: experience in Finance/Asset management
-
>8 years’ experience in the field of Software development, preferably in the Data domain
Pre:
- Experience in ‘hard coding’, e.g.: .Net/C#
- Experience with Python, Pytest
- Experience with SQL & SQL DDL scripting
- Experience in developing in Cloud, e.g. Azure, Data Bricks, ARM, Biceps
- Experience in with (Azure) Dev Ops, Git
- Experience working in an agile environment
Experience is a big plus, however, if you are eager to learn, there can be a good match too. Also, it’s a plus if you have knowledge of Cloud migrations, Data Vault modelling and developing in SAS (Base, Enterprise Guide).
What we offer you
We will offer you, depending on relevant knowledge and experience, a gross salary in the range of euro 5.000,- to 7..000,- based on full-time employment and great employment conditions aimed at flexibility, such as:
- A guaranteed end of year bonus of 8.33%
- Attention to your vitality and personal development
- Possibility to work from home 2-3 days per week And obviously a well-managed pension
Where you will work
For pension provider APG, pension is about people, life, and living together. With careful asset management, pension administration, communication and advice, we work on a livable future for current and future generations. One in which we share prosperity and well-being fairly and sustainably. Now and later.
APG is committed to around 4.5 million people in the Netherlands, which is why we believe it is important to be a reflection of Dutch society. This means that APG strives for an inclusive work environment, in which everyone can be themselves and where your unique qualities are embraced.
