The role
The Compliance department of APG AM is looking for a Team Manager for Monitoring, Reporting, and Control Room. In this position, you will manage a team of Compliance officers.
Within the Compliance department, the monitoring process focuses on monitoring the Compliance risk profile and the effectiveness of control measures. This is a continuous process involving design, execution, analysis, reporting, and proposing enhancements. The monitoring and reporting activities play a crucial role in managing Compliance risk. At the same time, the Control Room focuses on a data-driven way of working where data analytics, real-time monitoring and dashboarding of compliance risks are key.
As a Team Manager, you will lead by example in providing a countervailing voice while maintaining strong connections with stakeholders. You will also empower your team to make optimal decisions and support their further development.
What you would do
- Lead the team in further development of the compliance function.
- Oversee all 2nd line monitoring deep dives, compliance reports, and control room activities, while also executing 2nd line monitoring deep dives yourself.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring the successful alignment of goals and objectives within the department.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor all activities related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of the team's suite of products and services, as well as the execution of its activities. Establish the annual risk-based monitoring plan.
- Lead the team through the regular management cycle, including objective setting and personal development reviews.
- Serve as a senior specialist in areas of expertise such as Mi FID, AIFMD, AML, sanctions, and market abuse.
- Build long-term relationships across departments within APG Asset Management and APG, ensuring cooperation and mutual alignment.
- Act as a 2nd line compliance representative to both internal and external stakeholders.
What you bring
As a team manager, you are a team player with strong managerial and analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset. You maintain high standards for the quality of your work and possess well-developed organizational sensitivity. Possesses leadership qualities as described in the APG leadership profile (see Intranet - leadership): The emphasis is on: is connecting, leads change and builds towards results. The focus leadership skills are collaboration, execution power, and change leadership.
In addition, we are looking for:
- You have an academic degree (Master's) in law, accountancy, economics, finance or a related field. Next to this you are interested in digitalization and dashboards.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, preferably in asset management.
- 10+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory functions.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Experience in coordinating, guiding, and coaching a team.
- The ability to interact effectively with senior managers and influence through various leadership styles.
- Strong networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain connections both within and outside the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with comfort in engaging constructively with senior management and working within a large organization with multiple stakeholders.
- An excellent command of the English language, both in writing and presenting.
What we offer you
We will offer you, depending on relevant knowledge and experience, a gross salary in the range of 7766 - 11094 EUR based on full-time employment and great employment conditions aimed at flexibility, such as:
