The procurement of products and services within Thales Nederland and the Thales Group represents nearly 50% of the total turnover. About your future job
The Category Team Leader is the manager for Category Managers and Category Buyers based in the Netherlands and responsible for one or more Segments.
As a Procurement Category Team Leader you are leading your team and accountable for:
The job is regionally based but you represent relevant categories on behalf of the Segment Director and as such requires an excellent view of the organization as well as a strong ability to interact with many stakeholders while ensuring the implementation of global category strategies defined by the GCMs.
Reporting to Director of Procurement of Regional (Netherlands) Procurement and functionally to the Global Procurement Segments.
This role is a challenging one, in a time where Thales Nederland has been awarded several complex, large projects that lead to increasing procurement needs, both in volume as well as in complexity. In this respect the suppliers need to be involved in the preparation for this and the category strategies need further focus to create a smooth execution of the Thales NL projects. Your team has several key products to buy and key suppliers to manage in this respect.

- End to end performance of the acquisition process (Time, Quality, Costs, Supplier Agreements, Contract Management, ..).
- Supplier selection and supplier relationship management.
- Strategic supplier performance including quality, cost, delivery, contractual performance and innovation for all business activities.
- Up-to-date knowledge of your supplier market, including innovations and key new emerging technologies relevant for your scope.
- Motivating the team and ensuring collective and individual efficiency, forming and enhancing team dynamics to meet the challenges of the business.

The main tasks are:
- Continue on building a coherent team.
- Ensure the collaborative implementation of global and local category strategies agreed by the GCMs, that the CTL oversees in the Netherlands with a focus on continuous improvement of relevant category strategies.
- Improve the collaboration between the team, the global Thales Procurement team and TNL stakeholder network.
- Drive continuous improvement of Procurement (Chorus) processes for the complete Procurement team and particularly in the Engineering, IS/IT and General Expenses perimeter.
Why you'd be a good match
We are in search for a colleague who has:
- A degree in International Business, Procurement, Supply Chain or Engineering with professional and intellectual capacities at academic level.
- Multiple years of relevant experience in Procurement, preferably in the IS/IT, Engineering Services or General Expense field.
- Experience in interactions with senior management and working in cross functional international teams.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to influence and deliver business results.
- An open mind (listen, share ideas etc.) and is able to bring added value and innovation.
- The ability to motivate and drive the team forward, taking into account all aspects of a diverse team and making sure all feel included.
- Strong contractual skills and extensive experience in complex negotiations including import/export considerations.
