Job Description
As the Front Desk Supervisor at Rosewood Amsterdam, your day begins with ensuring everything is in place for a seamless guest experience. From the moment guests arrive to the moment they depart, you’ll be there to guide your team and handle every detail with care. You’ll lead by example, assisting with check-ins and check-outs, resolving guest concerns, and acting as the manager on duty. Every interaction with guests will be genuine and heartfelt, and you’ll ensure that both your team and our guests feel supported. Throughout the day, you’ll motivate your team, monitor performance, and collaborate with other departments to enhance the guest experience. As you end your day, you’ll take pride in knowing you’ve contributed to the smooth operation of Rosewood Amsterdam and created memorable experiences for our guests.
Job Summary
As Front Desk Supervisor, you play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have a smooth arrival and departure experience. You’ll oversee the front desk team, acting as the manager on duty, and take ownership of guest relations. Whether resolving complaints or assisting guests with their needs, your goal is to ensure that every guest interaction is genuine, personal, and aligns with Rosewood’s high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience:
- Greet and check in/out guests, ensuring compliance with Rosewood, LQA, and Forbes standards.
- Address guest complaints and resolve issues promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
- Assess and respond to guests’ needs, looking for ways to enhance their stay.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and support Front Desk agents, ensuring they maintain high service standards.
- Keep staff motivated, engaged, and working collaboratively to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Assign work duties and monitor staff performance, offering guidance and support where needed.
- Ensure daily operations run smoothly by managing reports, assigning tasks, and leading by example.
Operational Excellence:
- Act as the manager on duty, supporting management and ensuring smooth operations.
- Assist the Finance department with disputed charges and communicate with guests when necessary.
- Ensure special touches are applied to guest experiences, working closely with other departments.
- Look for new ways to enhance the overall guest experience.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
- A minimum of one year’s experience in a similar position, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of hotel standards, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of PMS Opera is an advantage.
Personal Qualities:
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to stressful conditions.
- Positive, collaborative attitude and commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, according to hotel occupancy.
Language Skills:
- Excellent command of spoken and written English is essential.
- Knowledge of Dutch is considered a plus.
