FULL TIME & PART TIME

August 28, 2024

What will you do?
As Knowledge & Technology Manager, you assure the acquiring, generating, accumulating, sharing and preserving of wind tunnel simulation knowledge and technologies in the low, transonic and supersonic speed domains for the benefit of our organisation. You sense relevant innovation outside DNW and transfer this into DNW such that the departments can enable their members to build up the required knowledge to stay ahead of our competition. Based on the current and future test requirements, you initiate improvements of wind tunnel simulation, measuring, data processing and correction techniques in close cooperation with our experts. You coordinate the Research Support provided by the parent organisations NLR and DLR.
Furthermore, you support the acquisition with your technical expertise and coordinate DNW representation at congresses, symposia and international working groups, for which you initiate and/or realise the required publications. To ensure the required knowledge level within DNW, you are responsible for the DNW HR plan on staff development.

What do you bring?
  • A university (Master) degree in aerospace engineering, or similar

  • Fluent in English and preferably also German and Dutch
Wat do we offer you?
Working at DNW/NLR means working in a national and international high-tech environment. Collaboration and involvement are of paramount importance to us. Next to this, we offer:
  • An appropriate salary
  • No fewer than 45 days of vacation, at a 40-hour workweek, so that you can also fully enjoy your free time in addition to your challenging job
  • An end-of-year bonus of 8%
  • A contribution towards your healthcare costs
  • Additional paid parental leave
  • Depending on your position, flexible working hours and the ability to work from home
  • An extensive selection in our company restaurant
Your new working enviroment?
The German-Dutch Wind Tunnels (DNW), with its headquarters in Marknesse (NL), operates six wind tunnels at four different locations of the Netherlands Aerospace Center (NLR) and its German sister organisation DLR. In these advanced installations, our highly qualified staff conduct research for international clients, mainly from the aerospace and automotive sector. We work on projects from industry as well as the research community in which the aerodynamic, aeroacoustic and aeroelastic properties of aircraft, helicopters, cars, vans, trucks etc. are simulated and measured.
