The factoring market is growing rapidly, driven by digitalization and innovative financial technologies. To keep pace, ING’s Factor 10 program aims to transform the IT landscape, expand the Com Fin digital channel offerings, and future-proof business operations to reach a broader SME client base. Through this digitalization journey, ING seeks to improve scalability and market reach within the SME and micro segments.
About the role
As the Product Owner for the Inlife squad, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering an exceptional digital customer journey within ING’s commercial finance division. The Factor 10 program provides business bankers with a digital platform to manage customer journeys and lending solutions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX, IT, and other product owners, to build a cohesive and efficient Inlife team from the ground up.
Your mission is to drive the Inlife team’s backlog, maximize value delivery, and collaborate across multiple ING departments to support business bankers. You will ensure seamless integration with ING’s Business Banking environment, maintaining a strong commercial portfolio aimed at stable, sustainable revenue streams for Com Fin.

You will ensure seamless integration with ING’s Business Banking environment, maintaining a strong commercial portfolio aimed at stable, sustainable revenue streams for Com Fin.
Key responsibilities
- Backlog ownership: manage, prioritize, and refine the product backlog for the Inlife squad, ensuring alignment with other teams within the Factor 10 program.
- Product vision and strategy: define and communicate the vision for the Inlife journey, with an emphasis on activating and supporting lifecycle management for all Com Fin clients.
- Cross-functional collaboration: act as the bridge between business, UX/UI, and IT, translating requirements into actionable user stories and aligning stakeholder expectations.
- Customer-centric design: contribute insights to UX/UI teams using tools like Figma to create a seamless customer journey.
- Data-driven decisions: utilize Adobe Analytics or similar tools to monitor customer behavior, continually optimizing the customer experience.
- Technical and process coordination: leverage experience with Azure Dev Ops (preferred) to streamline Agile workflows and drive continuous improvement within the squad.
About you
- Analytical and problem-solving skills: you can identify core issues, translate complex challenges into actionable plans, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong team player and leader: possess an entrepreneurial mindset to establish a new team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Commercial finance expertise: knowledge of business lending and commercial finance is a significant advantage.
- Banking experience: must have experience working in a Dutch bank.
- Tools proficiency: experience with Adobe Analytics, Figma, and, ideally, Azure Dev Ops. Familiarity with Bloomreach or other CMS platforms is also beneficial.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
- PSPO I certification or equivalent product owner experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a product owner, business analyst, or product manager.
- Demonstrable experience within Agile (Scrum) environments, with a preference for ING’s Agile way of working.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both Dutch and English.
What we offer:
- Initial 12 month contract assignment with option to extension (up to three years)
- 36 hour work week
- Salary range: €5.060,00 - €7.060,00 gross per month (excl. holiday payments & 13th month)
- Holiday pay and 13th month
- Full pension according to Dutch temp labour CLA
- Hybrid working (on/off-line in the office)
