About the Team
The Thales Nederland Procurement team represents a key success factor to secure reliability and predictability of the Thales Nederland deliveries to our customers, including the current Radar Ramp-up for the Business Line Surface Radar (SRA). The Procurement team is part of the Thales Group global Procurement organization. The procurement of products and services within Thales Nederland and the Thales Group represents nearly 50% of the total turnover. The competitiveness and the supplier’s operational performance, and the quality of the interface between Thales and its suppliers, are key factors of competitiveness.
About your future job
The Team Lead is accountable to manage and drive the necessary activities by Procurement and our suppliers/supply chain, to enable a significant Ramp Up in Radar production and delivery. All this in close coordination with the Project manager for the Thales NL Ramp Up Project, the Thales NL and Global Procurement Team, Industry and Engineering.
The Team Lead is responsible for all Procurements that are part of a Bid / Project / Product for the Business Line Surface Radar (BL SRA) within Thales NL. He/she is accountable for achievement of Procurement targets in his/her perimeter. He/she is responsible to provide the best procurement solution (quality, price and time) and contribute to bring innovations from the suppliers in our products or projects, fitting with the customer needs and aligned with the Thales Procurement strategy lead by the Global Category Managers.
The Team Lead reports to the Director of Procurement Netherlands and the Procurement SRA Business Line lead.

The Team Lead reports to the Director of Procurement Netherlands and the Procurement SRA Business Line lead.
As Team Lead Procurement Ramp Up Operations you are:
- Deputy to the Project Manager for the TNL Ramp Up project with the responsibility to manage the Procurement part of the Ramp Up,
- Managing and coaching ~6 Surface Radar Procurement Bids / Projects / Product Managers (Proc PM’s) in their regular activities and specifically in the Ramp Up activities,
- Member of the Procurement Management Team of TNL and as such accountable for the overall performance of the Procurement team and to drive continuous improvement and transformation initiatives,
- Procurement representative in the SRA Product Segments within Next Naval (management team meetings, project reviews, gates etc.),
- Closely cooperating with the Procurement Team Lead for the Business Line SRA (located in Limours, France),
- Closely cooperating with the Procurement Team Lead for the Business Line Above Water Systems/AWS (located in Hengelo, Netherlands) for transversal Next Naval topics e.g. MYB process.
As Team Lead Procurement Ramp Up Operations you will be accountable to:
- Provide competitiveness to the business by involving procurement in the early definition phase of a product so that they are able to challenge the needs / requirements, by bringing added value from suppliers into the solutions and to ensure the design is fit for manufacturing and meeting the cost targets (Design for X/Df X),
- Coordinate with the Procurement Segment and the Thales Netherlands organizations on the procurement strategies of categories that impact the BL SRA business,
- Monitor the Procurement activities and to track competitiveness performance and risks/opportunities in the bids/projects/products within your scope,
- Contribute to the acquisition MYB of the GBU, by providing the data related to your perimeter.
For the Radar Ramp up you will be accountable for the following specific activities:
- Contracting: deliver Frame Agreements and Long Term Agreements/LTAs (number dependent on start-date).
- Tracking-system (urgent): we need a robust, durable tracking system for suppliers which creates overview and insights on 1) supplier performance and 2) supplier Ramp-up progress. Define system, assign responsibilities, implement meeting structure, dashboard and communication-flow.
- Second and alternative sources: create and execute plans in close cooperation with the responsible category buyers.
- 2nd (3rd) tier supplier: create overview of and deliver plans on Nth tier supplier in close cooperation with the responsible category buyers.
- Operationalization of LTA principles: quarterly forecast, yearly price escalation, penalty monitoring
- Implementation of Strategic Supplier relationship management 2.0.
- Redesign business processes for series production.
- Prepare and start a next ramp-up for other Radars, Products or Systems
- Procurement teams trained, coached and fit for future.

- A degree in International Business, Procurement, Project Management, Supply Chain and/or Engineering with professional and intellectual capacities at academic level.
- Multiple years of relevant experience in Procurement, Project Management, Supply Chain and/or Engineering.
- Experience in interactions with senior management and working in cross functional international teams.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to influence and deliver business results.
