Te tūranga | About the role:
We have an opportunity for an Area Manager to join our team based in Auckland West. This is an exciting opportunity for you to support Head of Private banking and lead a designated area.
As the Area Manager, you will lead a team of experienced Private Banking Managers and private bankers; coaching and mentoring your team to maximise opportunities with existing clients while driving quality new business through targeted lead generation and or portfolio approach.
In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership and performance of your team and leading them to achieve quality business growth, management of operational and credit risks and with the ultimate goal to ensure outstanding customer outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will be highly experience with a broad background in financial services industry. You will already have a solid background leading a successful Private Banking team or similar and be able to pull from the skills and experience you have built to enable you to lead, coach, mentor and drive a successful team.

You will focus on the provision of high-quality advice and service to ultimately ensure that ASB Private Banking team remains first choice in meeting their customer's needs. We are looking for an experienced leader (7+ years), who has demonstrated:
- Excellent written and oral communication including the ability to influence, negotiate and disseminate key information.
- Leadership capabilities, ability to work autonomously, adaptive with a strong ability to lead through change.
- Business development skills with experience identifying and securing new business.
- Strong background in lending, cross selling, credit and risk management
- People leader with proven experience in leading a successful customer facing team
- Strong focus and commitment to providing quality customer service, understanding the business, industry, and credit risk
