Lecturer in Sport Psychology

Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This role involves contributing to the teaching, postgraduate supervision, and administration requirements of the School/Division, maintaining and developing original scholarship and research, and undertaking relevant professional/community/iwi service activities. You will prepare and deliver research-informed lectures and/or seminars, and conduct and/or coordinate tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, or workshops.
You will supervise honours, graduate, and postgraduate students, including as a Supervisor for Ph D students. You will maintain an active research programme, conduct quality research, and contribute to knowledge development through scholarship and publication. This includes involvement in research projects, attendance and presentation at academic conferences, and potentially leading a research team.

The salary for a lecturer is in the range of $87,500 to $104,322, based on skills, knowledge, and experience. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week) based at our Hillcrest Campus.

You possess a Ph D or Professional Doctorate in Sport Psychology or a relevant discipline. You thrive in a higher education environment, enjoying teaching and postgraduate supervision while maintaining and developing original scholarship and research. You can demonstrate successful tertiary-level teaching experience relevant to both the Human Performance Science and the Sport Development and Coaching majors. You also have a research profile pertinent to the study of Sport Psychology and a willingness to build interdisciplinary collaborations with staff across the School.
