• Lead our global health strategy, working across a range of interesting issues, in coordination with NZ agencies (including Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade) and international health partners

The Global Health International team is one of two teams within the Global Health Group. It is responsible forproviding advice to the government on global health matters, managing New Zealand's relationship with the World Health Organisation and advancing New Zealand's health interests internationally.

Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
The Principal Advisor provides analytical and strategic expertise and within the Global Health International Team. This role provides expert technical advice and thought leadership to advance the global health strategy, working alongside PHA and Ministry colleagues, while also ensuring the quality of the team's work programme and deliverables.

Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring

• Proven thought leadership and senior policy development expertise, ideally on issues relevant to the global health portfolio.
• Significant experience in leading the development and implementation of strategies, including working with, influencing and leading stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills with the ability to foster and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and engage collaboratively with different audiences on complex issues.
• Previous experience working strategically and applying critical thinking, as well as sound judgement in the development of options and provision of advice, in a foreign policy/multilateral/international development role.
