Principal Engineer

Mō te tūranga | About the Role

The Principal Engineer is the conduit between business teams and Engineers, and provides ad hoc data modelling, transformation, analysis and definition work for data platforms in the Data Platform and AI Service Group.

This will include:

Engaging with different stakeholders for new incoming work and translating business requirements to technical requirements for data solutions.
Working across priority change initiatives as and when required, as well as general “run” work.
Acting as a critical resource for other Engineers requiring analysis and assistance.
Performing data modelling, transformation, analysis and definition work across several data platforms.
Providing after hours On Call production support as required.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

10+ years’ experience in information architecture and data modelling with hands on cloud AWS/Azure experience
Strong SQL skills
Experience with Spark, data modelling/information architecture toolsets and SQL querying tools
Familiarity with Agile processes
In depth experience with development life cycles
Banking/financial services experience
