The Systems Operations Director plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of cloud-based infrastructure, distributed edge environments, and internal IT solutions.
This position is responsible for ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability of the company's cloud systems, edge computing services, and internal IT services while leading a team of operations professionals.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, edge computing, IT operations, and strategic leadership, working closely with cross-functional teams to support the company's cloud-based products, services, and internal business operations.

The Systems Operations Director will focus on optimizing performance, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring that cloud, edge, and IT services align with the organization's growth and objectives.
A key aspect of this role is driving innovation and continuous improvement in systems management, security, automation, and distributed computing to meet business goals.

Duties and responsibilities

Lead, manage, and mentor a team of systems engineers and operations staff.
Oversee the day-to-day management of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and cloud environments.
Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure system availability, performance, and scalability, meeting SLAs and uptime objectives.
Manage the configuration, security, and disaster recovery plans of all systems.
Collaborate with the development, product, and security teams to ensure the integration and deployment of new technologies and upgrades.
Oversee the implementation of systems architecture that supports company goals and objectives.
Prepare and manage the budget for the systems operations department, ensuring cost-effective technology investments.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and security protocols

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations, including 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of systems operations, IT infrastructure, network management, and cloud technologies.
Proven experience with IT service management (ITSM), change management, and incident resolution processes.
Expertise in virtualization, containerization, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and database management.
Familiarity with cybersecurity protocols and compliance standards.
Strong leadership and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
