The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health & climate change, and non-communicable diseases & mental health.
This is a grant funded contractual position.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

• coordinate and co-lead projects activities related to the delivery of EPHS and community engagement, particularly those that involve system strengthening and behavioral components
• work closely with the project team to integrate implementation research findings into practical interventions aimed at improving community health outcomes in the field site of Tando Allahyar (TAY)
• monitor and evaluate project progress, ensuring alignment with both academic and project objectives
• engage with communities, health system managers, and other stakeholders in Tando Allahyar (TAY) to promote the implementation of EPHS interventions at the three platforms – community, primary care, and secondary care by applying health system strengthening and wider public health principles
• facilitate the translation of implementation research into actionable community health strategies
• support the implementation of family practice models based on primary health care in Tando Allahyar (TAY) that emphasize empowerment and address social disparities
• document and report on project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned in Tando Allahyar (TAY) to both academic and non-academic audiences
• contribute to publications and presentations that highlight the impact of project-based interventions related to EPHS implementation and enhanced community engagement
• provide support for departmental qualitative research, focusing on health care delivery and service provision along with social science behavioral research
• develop research proposals centred on operational aspects of service provision with an emphasis on access, quality, equity, efficiency and effectiveness of care as well as aspects related to gender, exclusion, and disparities
• participate in academic networks, contribute to thought leadership events, and influence stakeholders ranging from communities’ leaders to health managers through scientific evidence
• contribute to the scientific evidence base for community engagement in the Department’s urban and rural field sites, especially district TAY aligning with the institution’s vision
• participate in cross-sectional collaboration within the department and with external academic partners.
