METRO opened its first cash & carry wholesale center in Pakistan in 2007 & expanded to 5 wholesale centers in a short span of 18 months. In July 2012 METRO and Makro-Habib combined their wholesale business in Pakistan marking the beginning of a long-term partnership to the mutual benefit of both companies. The merger allowed METRO and Makro-Habib to combine resources and gain the financial strength to lead and grow in a challenging environment and to gain synergies targeted to generate value for our customers and suppliers alike. Today the company is operating 10 wholesale centers in Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Islamabad & Faisalabad.
METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Limited is part of METRO GROUP’s sales division METRO Cash & Carry, the international leader in self-service wholesale. The company operates more than 750 stores in 25 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa and has a workforce of over 107,000 employees. Sales in 2016/17 were approximately 37 billion Euro.
Job Description
- Ability to Reconcile reports from GMS with cash and credit.
- Assist in scheduling cashiers in their shifts.
- Assist in through management of check out - floor operations which will include Cash tills and End control.
- Ensuring smooth implementation of Customer service, within the department
- Ability to train cashiers along with their further development within the same field
- Work towards developing into the DM role.
- Greeting and providing the required product information in terms of specification, availability, price, and location to the customers.
- Addressing customer complaints to understand customers' needs and expectations, and to propose solutions.
- Seek information from DM about the competitors' promotions to understand the business action plans in a better way.
- Seek info from the line manager about competitor's services and activities.
- Monitor performance of all team members in order to identify the difference between expected level of productivity and actual productivity.
- Review and approve all the operational activities of team members.
- Keep motivation level high among all team members to bring the best out of them.
- Keep a conducive and learning environment among all team.
- To carry out any instructions/task given by the line manager and/or seniors
