Accountant with Strong HRQ Experience for a Leading eCommerce

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with comprehensive knowledge of the setup and operations of a Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in the Philippines. The ideal candidate will support in managing the financial operations of our newly established RHQ, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and optimising financial processes to support business objectives. Additionally, the candidate must be proficient in payroll management, both manually and through payroll systems, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
RHQ-Specific Accounting:
- Manage financial transactions unique to RHQ operations, including inter-company transactions, foreign currency revaluation, and transfer pricing.
- Handle tax incentives, exemptions, and other RHQ-related benefits as provided by the Philippine government.
- Work with external auditors, legal counsel, and government agencies to ensure the smooth operation of the RHQ structure.
- Prepare, analyse, and present accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of financial statements in accordance with Philippine regulations for Regional Headquarters.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance to stakeholders.
- Process payroll for RHQ employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
- Administer payroll manually when necessary, or through payroll systems, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
- Manage payroll-related tasks such as employee deductions, benefits, and tax calculations.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to relevant government agencies, such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Social Security System (SSS).
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any payroll discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all local tax laws and regulations, including the submission of tax filings
- Manage corporate tax planning and liaise with tax authorities for RHQ-specific tax benefits and obligations.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of annual audited financial statements and other compliance requirements.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Continuously assess financial processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the automation of accounting and payroll processes and the adoption of financial management tools.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal departments such as HR, IT, and Operations to support business initiatives and ensure the smooth financial and payroll operations of the RHQ.
- Act as the primary point of contact for financial and payroll matters related to RHQ operations, both within the Philippines and with global counterparts.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years of experience in handling the financial operations of a Regional Headquarters (RHQ) setup in the Philippines.
- Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of RHQ tax regulations, incentives, and compliance requirements in the Philippines.
- Familiarity with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local accounting standards.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine corporate tax laws, including those related to RHQ, PEZA, or BOI incentives.
- Expertise in payroll management, including manual and system-based payroll processing.
- Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., SAP, Quick Books, Xero, or dedicated payroll systems).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Good health, eyesight and hearing are required.
- This position will require some work to be rendered on extended hours and in some cases, on graveyard shift for completion of a project or to meet with clients and project stakeholders;
The duties and responsibilities of the position are essentially performed in a normal office environment.
This position does not require the employee to perform duties that will necessitate climbing/crawling or handling of light construction equipment. However, if the situation calls for functions to be carried out in that environment, it is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that all safety factors are in place and safety procedures are being followed.

WORK SCHEDULE
- Primary: Day Shift, 5 days a week
- Secondary: Other Shifts as the project or department’s mandate may require.
Pay: Php50,000.00 - Php60,000.00 per month
