About the Role
We are seeking a talented CAD Drafter with a focus on outdoor furniture design to join our team. The CAD Drafter will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, plans, and layouts for outdoor furniture products. The ideal candidate will work closely with the product design and development team to ensure that all designs meet both aesthetic and functional requirements while adhering to industry standards and project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed CAD drawings for outdoor furniture, including tables, chairs, benches, grandstands and other custom pieces.
- Translate design concepts, sketches, and product specifications into comprehensive 2D and 3D CAD models.
- Ensure all designs meet functional, aesthetic, and structural integrity requirements for outdoor use, such as weather resistance, durability, and safety.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and production teams to finalize designs and make necessary adjustments.
- Develop assembly instructions, technical documentation, and product specifications.
- Perform quality checks on all designs to ensure accuracy, functionality, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Stay informed on new trends, materials, and techniques in outdoor furniture design.
- Maintain and organize CAD files, drawing sets, and project documentation.
- Assist in product revisions, modifications, and prototyping when necessary.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and successful product rollouts.
- Diploma or Degree in Drafting, Industrial Design, CAD Technology, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably with experience in furniture or product design particularly with outdoor furniture, is highly desirable
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Auto CAD, Solid Works, Revit, or similar
- Strong understanding of material properties related to outdoor furniture, such as wood, metal, and weather-resistant materials
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in drafting and design
- Ability to interpret and apply design concepts, sketches, and rough drafts
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt designs based on feedback or production constraints
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines
- Knowledge of outdoor furniture materials and structural requirements.
- Experience in 3D modeling, rendering, and product visualization.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and outdoor industry standards.
