Job Title: Liaison Officer for Sea-Based Accounts

Location: 19th Floor, Pearlbank Center, 146 Valero Street, Salcedo Village, Makati, Philippines
Job Summary:
The Liaison Officer for Sea-Based Accounts will act as the primary point of contact between the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and relevant maritime and government agencies. The officer will ensure the smooth processing of seafarer-related documents, compliance with labor laws, and the facilitation of crew deployment for sea-based accounts. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and an in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements for overseas seafarers.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Coordination and Documentation:**
- Process and facilitate the approval of contracts, certifications, and other necessary documents for sea-based workers.
- Liaise with the Department of Migrant Workers, MARINA (Maritime Industry Authority), and other related government agencies to ensure proper documentation for seafarer deployment.
- Submit and follow up on applications for crew endorsements, visas, permits, and other regulatory documents.
2. **Compliance and Regulation:**
- Ensure that all sea-based accounts comply with local and international maritime laws, labor laws, and government regulations.
- Monitor changes in maritime policies and requirements to ensure updated compliance.
- Provide guidance to management and crew on relevant legal matters and regulatory standards.
3. **Relationship Management:**
- Maintain strong relationships with government offices, maritime training centers, medical facilities, and recruitment agencies.
- Coordinate with shipowners, agents, and crew members for smooth transitions during deployment and re-deployment processes.
- Act as a key point of contact between the company and sea-based employees, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and with minimal delay.
4. **Administrative Tasks:**
- Prepare and manage reports related to deployment activities, compliance issues, and other relevant updates for sea-based accounts.
- Keep organized records of all documents processed, including seafarer contracts, training certificates, and endorsements.
- Monitor and renew necessary licenses and permits for the company’s sea-based operations.
5. **Problem Solving and Support:**
- Assist in resolving disputes or issues faced by sea-based workers, such as contract discrepancies, labor disputes, and health concerns.
- Provide support in addressing any issues that arise during pre-deployment, deployment, or post-deployment phases.
6. **Other Responsibilities:**
- Ensure that all stakeholders are updated on the status of seafarer documents and compliance requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management in line with the company’s mission and goals.
#### **Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience as a liaison officer, preferably in the maritime or overseas employment industry.
- Familiarity with DMW, and MARINA policies and processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

#### **Work Environment:**
This position is primarily office-based in Makati, with occasional visits to government agencies and maritime-related institutions as required.
