Sr. Accountant/Controller
We are seeking a Senior Accountant and Controller to join our dynamic business operations and finance team. About the Role:
As a Senior Accountant, you will play an integral role in improving and optimizing our general accounting and business operations. We’re looking for a proactive ‘go-getter’ who is ready to roll up their sleeves and support various accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Billing, Payroll, and Budgeting. You will also handle account reconciliations, financial reporting, audit, capital and operational planning, general ledger accounting, GAAP compliance, and other related duties.
Working with our small but dedicated finance team, you will play an integral role in supporting operations across the organization, helping us continually serve our customers, systems, and partners as a core contributor to the Business Operations (Biz Ops) and Finance Department.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist the Finance Manager/Controller with monthly account reconciliations, revenue reconciliation, financial statement preparation, actual to budget review, trend analysis, AR/AP reporting, internal audits, scorecarding, KPI tracking, and financial reporting.
● Cross-train and provide coverage and support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Payroll.
● Perform other duties as assigned in support of business operations and accounting.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required. (M.Fin/MSc/MS/MBA and/or US CPA level equivalent education strongly preferred)
● Excellent English communication skills (8+/10) is required.
● At least 8 years of accounting experience (US GAAP experience required)
● Working knowledge of US tax laws and US GAAP (strongly preferred).
● Strong financial analysis skills and data modelling skills (required).
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel, and Google Workspaces, particularly with GSheets (required).
● Ability to work across departments to support budget and cost controls.
● Experience with Payroll systems, Sales & Use Tax systems, ERP systems, and VAccounting systems, especially ADP, Avalara, QBE (strongly preferred).
● Experience with SQL/database queries, macros, pivot reports and report writing (preferred).
This is a remote role that must be able to work general Eastern Standard Hours (EST) (some flexibility is acceptable).
